Terms & Conditions Better Living 2030

Better Living 2030 is an initiative by AB Electrolux (publ), a Swedish Company with registration number 556009-4178 and registered address SE-105 45 Stockholm, Sweden, (“Electrolux”, “we“, “our” or “us”).

As part of Better Living 2030, Electrolux has invited selected participants in a collaboration for better living whereby the participants are invited to join forces with Electrolux to explore solutions for future, sustainable homes. The aim is to learn more about young people’s hopes, dreams and concerns regarding their future lives and to explore sustainable solutions for 2030 and beyond. As part of this initiative, Electrolux has invited the selected participants to make submissions in line with the above aim by completing a questionnaire available at www.betterlivingprogram.com/bl-2030.

These Terms & Conditions (or “Terms”) govern your interaction with Electrolux under Better Living 2030 including any submissions made by you to Electrolux. By submitting the questionnaire on the Better Living 2030 Website and ticking the checkbox that you have read and accept these Terms, a legally binding agreement is created between Electrolux and you, and you agree to comply with, and be bound by, these Terms. Importantly, if you do not agree to these Terms, you may not complete the questionnaire or otherwise participate in the initiative referred to above.

Who may submit information. Although Electrolux values the opinion of all its customers, this specific initiative is open to potential participants between the ages of 15 to 20. We therefore ask you to confirm the age group you belong to before submitting the questionnaire. People outside of these age groups will unfortunately not be able to participate. In addition, this initiative will only be available in English and we therefore will only accept submissions written in the English language.

Parental consent. If you are between the ages of 15 to 17, or if you are unable to legally form a binding contract with us (for example, due to applicable laws in your country), you will need to provide us with a consent from your legal guardian to submit the questionnaire. We will therefore ask you to include the name of, and a valid email address to your legal guardian who will receive a copy of your submission as well as any consents given by you under these Terms and our Privacy Statement available here. By including your legal guardian’s email address and ticking the checkbox that your legal guardian has consented to your submission, you confirm that this email address is a correct email address to your legal guardian and that this legal guardian has given its consent and agrees for you to be bound by these Terms. Please note that if you do not want your submission to be shared with your legal guardian, you are unable to participate in this initiative and we kindly ask you to refrain from submitting any information.

What you allow us to do with the information you submit. By submitting information to us through the questionnaire or in connection with this initiative, you give us a license to use, reproduce and modify your information included in such submission. We do not claim any ownership of this information. Therefore, you hereby grant to us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty free, transferable, sub-licensable, perpetual license to use (in full or in part), distribute, modify, copy, publicly perform or display, translate and create derivative works of any information you submit for both internal and external purposes (including, but not limited to, marketing). We may also permit others to assist us with your information, and may sub-licence any of our rights to another person. It is therefore very important that you do not submit any information that is confidential or that you do not want to be made public. You must ensure that you have all necessary rights to and in the information you contribute. It is also important that the information you submit is not someone else’s confidential information or information that violates someone else’s rights (for example, information that is owned or created by anyone else than you). You therefore confirm that you are only submitting information that is your own and that you are not submitting any information that is in any way restricted or belongs to someone else. To the extent possible under applicable law, you waive any moral rights (including rights in the nature of attribution, integrity, privacy, paternity, and rights to object to derogatory treatment) in your contribution for the purposes of your submission to and use by Electrolux in accordance with these Terms.

Change-Maker Team. Based on the information submitted on the Better Living 2030 Website, Electrolux will invite a number of selected participants to become part of Electrolux’ Team of Change-Makers. Read more about the Team of Change-Makers and the selection process here. By indicating that you are interested in participating in the Team of Change-Makers, you accept that Electrolux may contact you by using the contact details you provide in relation to said cause. If you are selected to take part in the Team of Change-Makers, your participation will be governed by a separate agreement between us and you or, as applicable, your legal guardian. You will be informed accordingly.

Personal data. As part of your participation in Better Living 2030 and, where relevant, the Team of Change-Makers, Electrolux will collect and use your personal information. In particular, you are required to enter certain personal information, such as your name, email address and country of residence and, as applicable, the name and email address or your legal guardian. Our Privacy Statement, available here, explains how we collect, use and share your personal information. Our Privacy Statement also explains your rights in relation to your personal information that have been collected by us.

Exclusion of liability. Although we have taken reasonable care to provide you with accurate information on the Better Living 2030 Website and any information we provide to you in connection with the initiative as described above, Electrolux assumes no responsibility for any such information. Electrolux consequently disclaims and excludes any and all liability to you or any other person, including for any damage or loss, whether direct, indirect, consequential (including loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, loss of goodwill) or otherwise, resulting from, or arising out of, or in connection with, any information we provide to you (including through the Better Living 2030 Website), our use of your information, your submission or the questionnaire or any other submission by you under the initiative, even if Electrolux has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Acceptable use policy. You must not, directly or indirectly (including to procure another person to do so), engage in any illegal, criminal, unlawful, fraudulent or malicious activity, or any other activity that may harm or adversely impact on our business and operations, whether in connection with your access and use of the Better Living 2030 Website, provision of information to us or otherwise. For example, you must not provide or publish any defamatory statements, compromise or attempt to compromise our systems and infrastructure, including breaching or circumventing our security procedures and protocols to gain unauthorised access to our platforms and systems, or undertake denial of service attacks on our systems or infrastructure. If you become aware of any such illegal, criminal, unlawful, fraudulent or malicious activity, or any other activity, you agree to immediately notify us of this activity.

Suspension. Electrolux may alter, suspend or discontinue the initiative at any time, with or without notice to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Electrolux is not liable to you or any other person if it exercises its rights to do so.

Intellectual Property. As between the parties, Electrolux owns all intellectual property rights in and to all materials, information and other works on, or made available through, the Better Living 2030 Website and the initiative, excluding your information that is provided to us. As all such content is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws, you must not do anything that interferes with or breaches those laws or the intellectual property rights in and to such materials and information. You must not use our logo, trademark or masthead displayed on the Better Living 2030 Website without our express prior written consent.

Additional rights. Except as expressly provided in these Terms, a person who is not a party to these Terms may not enforce any of its terms. You cannot transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without Electrolux’ consent. Electrolux’ rights and obligations can, however, be assigned to others. This can, for example, occur through internal reorganisations or by law.

How disputes will be handled. Without limiting your rights under the laws of your country, these Terms as well as any claim or dispute arising hereof or relating to your submission, shall be governed by substantial Swedish law, and all disputes shall be resolved by the Stockholm District Court as first instance.

Other terms. In addition to these Terms, you must comply with those terms and conditions in relation to your access and use of the Better Living Program website found at www.betterlivingprogram.com.

Changes to these Terms. Electrolux may, with or without notice, modify or otherwise change these Terms at its discretion by posting the changes and modifications on the Better Living 2030 Website. You are taken to have agreed to, and will be bound by, any such modifications or changes if you continue to access and/or use the Better Living 2030 Website on or after the date we make any such modifications or changes.
